Dutch railway project on Windows Azure

Find here an abstract of a project I did for the Dutch Railway. A post that has no connection with Geotopia but an quite interesting one I think.

Last week on the 9th of January my company CGI hosted an event organized by Windows Azure User Group (WAZUG). I did a presentation on a project we did for the Dutch Railway: building a automatic passenger counting system fully running on Windows Azure. Getting the realtime information from the train regarding occupation figures, the train layout (first, second class etc.) and make it available for consuming application like the Traveller app from the Dutch Railway.

There is also a nice video that demonstrates the concepts of the application from a user's perspective.

I hope you all enjoy the video!
